It’s finally here!!! The start of a new college football season is less than a day away and we couldn’t be more excited…to handicap the worst college card in recent memory. That didn’t stop us from getting fired up in an attempt to come out of the gates swinging. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on who you ask) we never broke down the entire B1G conference but I’m pretty sure that was more strategic than anything to protect Adam Kramer’s peace of mind. In typical OTL fashion we hit on all the big games along with offering our best bets of the week…which offer outstanding fade bait. It’s the holy grail of college football conferences…the Sun Belt!!! No, just kidding, we tackled the SEC with gusto and enthusiasm of 10 5* recruits. Unfortunately we couldn’t get to all 14 teams in the league with adequate depth (or at all) so inevitably there will be a handful of you angry certain programs got no love. There was no debate on the podcast for who will come out of the west victorious but as much for the natural contrarian in me there was no shot I could peg the Tide conference champs. Sit down, grab an adult beverage, and let the boys and I break it all down for you. Not able to view the widget? Futures

With less than 2 weeks until kickoff most of the futures prices have long since settled in to a temporary resting spot. There are still opportunities to shop around town for good numbers depending on which team you believe can factor prominently into the national championship race. Unlike years past where the best (ok not best but most deserving) 2 teams met for college football’s greatest prize, this year value could come in a number of different forms when it comes to long term investments. Take a snapshot of this board now because in a matter of weeks there’s a good chance it’s been flipped upside down. 2015 COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AT&T STADIUM– ARLINGTON, TX MONDAY, JANUARY 12, 2015 (All Prices courtesy of the LVH) FLORIDA ST 3OREGON 7ALABAMA 5AUBURN 12LSU 20OKLAHOMA 8UCLA 10OHIO ST 12BAYLOR 25MICHIGAN ST 25WISCONSIN 35STANFORD 50ARIZONA ST 100MISSOURI 100SOUTH CAROLINA 30OKLAHOMA ST 200OLE MISS 50GEORGIA 18WASHINGTON 75USC 30IOWA 100TEXAS A&M 100NOTRE DAME 100CLEMSON 75ARIZONA 200KANSAS ST 100TEXAS 100BYU 300UTAH ST 500FLORIDA 60BOISE ST 500MISSISSIPPI ST 100TENNESSEE 200MIAMI FL 200NORTH CAROLINA 100NEBRASKA 100VIRGINIA TECH 200MICHIGAN 75GEORGIA TECH 500OREGON ST 500TCU 100TEXAS TECH 300PITTSBURGH 1000WASHINGTON ST 1000UTAH 1000DUKE 1000LOUISVILLE 300NORTHWESTERN 200VANDERBILT 1000FIELD...

The boys and I were back at it again last night breaking down another power conference. I know it’s not the SEC, ACC, or any other with southern zip codes but the best in the west should have the highest level of quarterback play from top to bottom of any league this coming season. There was some major disagreement on the pod as well mainly because Bud was too busy sharing ‘Possum extermination methods (or sniffing glue) to provide accurate analysis of win totals. All kidding aside this conference could be one of the nation’s wildest rides but and with the 9 game conference schedule anything can happen. Only time will tell…in the meantime enjoy our breakdowns of Cal, Utah, & Colorado. Oh, we also hit on the league’s heavyweights as well. It’s the league that no one wants to talk about…well outside of OU and Texas fans that is. Does Baylor have an active and vocal fan base after last season’s rise to prominence? There are plenty of storylines: Is OU’s blowout of Alabama in the Sugar Bowl justification for their prohibitive favorite status? How will the recent transfer of stud DE Devonte Fields from potential darkhorse TCU impact the race? Can Kansas be less than awful and will Dana Holgerson survive another trip around the sun in Morgantown? Like all of our pods this one took a few twists and turns we didn’t see coming but there was a sleeper in the league we all seemed to like this year. Lets just say we know what that means… Your look at college football as only Drew Collins, Adam Kramer, Bud Elliot, and myself can provide. Grab a nice summer ale and enjoy. OTL: ACC

Oh the ACC…how everyone without a SEC address loves you for breaking one league’s strangle hold on the entire college football landscape. We all know about FSU’s aspirations to repeat as national champs with a schedule that appears “tougher” than last year but in reality will see them as ridiculous favorites in every game. However we’re equal opportunity on the OTL podcast; Wake Forest & Pittsburgh attracted our attention because every ugly duckling in college football can still yield profit. There were a number of twists and turns on this week’s installment from botched win totals to hunting squirrels (no, that’s not a typo). Let’s be honest though, you guys don’t come listen for our serious authoritarian tone anyways. Not able to view the widget? In just over a month we’ll enter a brand new era in college football. There will still be cheating in recruiting, delusional fan bases, and off field transgressions but we finally get to usher in the playoff era. Oddsmakers find themselves in a new predicament; adjusting prices to reflect the inclusion of 4 teams in the national championship discussion meaning 1 loss won’t completely eliminate teams from contention. For bettors the game remains the same when it comes to a futures ticket: get to the title to ensure a profit, albeit with one additional layer to fight through first. Here’s the complete updated list of college football playoff futures courtesy of the LVH. Wonder how the members of the OTL podcast feel about identifying value? There was rarely agreement and we didn’t crown a champion yet but the discussion led us to a few dark places that we thought would never be possible. Don’t believe me? The season is still over a month away but that couldn’t stop us from getting the gang back together. We kicked things off in style breaking down the most prestigious award in college football (no, not that dumb looking new National Championship thing) the Heisman trophy. If you don’t know your players on the OTL podcast we’re led by our fearless host Drew Collins and joined weekly by Adam Kramer of Bleacher Report/KegsNEggs, Bud Elliot of SB Nation/Tomahawk Nation, and of course yours truly. It’s been one hell of a journey picking games on national TV this fall. Special thanks to the folks at Fox Sports for giving Clay Travis and I a platform to talk about games from a gambling perspective on a national platform. The two of us have disagreed all year long, quite frankly it’s no surprise it happened yet again leading into tonight’s national championship. As always I enjoy your feedback so please feel free to email about the show regarding things you liked, didn’t like, want added, etc because I’d love to hear from you the fans (and haters) to better tailor the content to your liking.
