Fight Night 71

UFC FN 71 Mir vs. Duffee: D’Arce chokes from Del Mar Welcome Enthusiasts to UFC 71. Tonight’s card is well positioned in that there is absolutely nothing going on in the sports world. The slate tonight in our opinion is high in viewing value but slight in underdog opportunity. We’ll tread lightly and try to pick up some profit. UFC 2015 50-59 + $1,199.00 (includes Sunday’s fights which were not posted at this site) -Let’s Fight- Good -265 vs. Craig +245 Ex-Bellator Champ Good is a good striker with dubious skills on the mat. This is his UFC debut and he goes against a canine in Craig that is desperate for if he drops this fight he may end up flipping burgers somewhere. Craig is the younger much larger man and has a 2” reach edge over Good. Craig opened a reasonable dog +135 and now is inflated over a one dimensional fighter who may have some UFC debut jitters. Craig +245 (half) Alcantara -105 vs. Casey -105 Casey is a wrestler with decent submission skills and overall is improving as a fighter despite his 34 years of age. Our questions with Casey revolve around his cardio but he must know he has to improve there. Alcantara will be the larger man with height and reach advantage so to keep this fight standing is certainly his plan as Casey will have an edge on the floor especially early. We’ve been going back and forth on this one…. Alcantara -105 (half) Yahya -105 vs. Kanehara -105 ‘Styles make fights’, Rani wants this fight on the floor and Kanehara has a substantial striking edge. We’ll go with the striker. Kanehara -105 (half) Lee -255 vs. Moontasri +235 Kevin Lee seems destined for a Championship run in...

UFC 189

UFC 189 Mendes vs. McGregor: Viva Las Vegas! Welcome Enthusiasts to the much anticipated UFC 189. We attended weigh-ins yesterday and in my life I have seen or experience nothing like the mass hysteria and Irish invasion witnessed yesterday at the MGM Grand. There are several great matchups on these cards so as usual we’ll focus exclusively on bouts that give us the greatest advantage for profit and gaming value. One thing to note, the magnitude of the UFC 189 card does not entice us to make monetary wagers other than we execute for any other fight card. We choose to play half or full unit positions on 99% of the fights we release. On the occasion that we uncover obtuse value from the marketplace or may obtain advantage by adding investment to an original position we will do so….but we do so based on gaming value not on the magnitude or scope of any particular fight(s). UFC 2015: 47-53 + $1,545.00 (All GambLou.com releases are understood to be a standard and hypothetical $100 per position unless otherwise stated. We use $100 to easily track our results as every GambLou.com release is accounted for each Monday AM. Public accounting allows us to display profitability while providing our readers with 110% disclosure). -Let’s Fight- Smolka -125 vs. Seery +115 Neil Seery is an Irish boxing based MMA artist that offers deep experience, fine striking and is tough as a three dollar steak. He faces a complete fighter in Louis Smolka however that will enter the Octagon with Fightmetric advantage. Smolka is better than a decade younger; he’s the taller man by 5” as well he will hold a 5” reach advantage over Seery. Smolka opened a fair -170 and the money has seeped in on...

Welcome fight Enthusiasts to the dog days of summer. Just a mere 6-7 years ago we could be found banging our heads against a brick wall of regular season hardball.  We choose to utilize the regular season of hardball as data for our Playoff Profits and survive these 114 degree days by bringing our own heat…..in the UFC. Fight analysis provided by @Gamblou UFC 2015: 46-49 + $1,745.00 (All GambLou.com releases are understood to be a standard and hypothetical $100 per position unless otherwise stated. We use $100 to easily track our results as every GambLou.com release is accounted for each Monday AM. Public accounting allows us to display profitability while providing our readers with 110% disclosure). Just a note on this UFC fight card as it’s undergone numerous changes. UFC visa issues, late replacements, and debuting fighters have had a major effect on this card, an effect we believe may well lead to profitability. When we use the term, ‘Swing it Easy’ this is the situation we point to. It’s our opinion that neither Abbott, Costello, the ‘Makers nor the public playing parlay pundits have any idea how these fights are going to play out. To be honest we’re not so certain we have an empirical idea of how these fights will transpire but the one thing we have come to trust over almost 4 decades in this business is our ‘Gut feel’. Today our ‘Gut’ says, hold the club loose, ‘Swing it Easy’ and ‘fade’. -Let’s Fight- Montgomery -110 vs. Sims +100 The southpaw Montgomery is some guitar player from a rock n roll band. He’s 5” taller, 5 years younger and sports a dynamic reach advantage over his opponent. Numbers all check out. It’s our business to notice that Montgomery who...

UFC FN 69: Bodylocks and Bockwurst from Berlin All Fight analysis provided by @GambLou Good day Enthusiasts. Tomorrow’s UFC card tips off at 9AM PST so we’ll be enjoying brunch with our brawls come Saturday morning. This card features fighters from every corner of the world and has a very international flair. Many of these fights are miss matches where we can derive little value from the dog or they feature fighters we have insufficient data by which to handicap the fight. With fight cards like this our choice is to study, enjoy, take ample notes and utilize the card for fight data moving forward.   Remember that Selectivity contributes as much to Profitable Sports Gaming as does Due Diligence and Money Management. So we’ll take a measured approach to UFC FN 69 while enjoying the international flavor of the fighters. UFC 2015: 46-47 + $1,845.00 Taisumov -165 vs. Patrick +145 Patrick is the taller, longer man, he trains in Brazil with the likes of Jacare so this kid can make it a maul on the mat if this fights goes to the floor which is what we feel Taisumov may have planned. Taisumov has three UFC wins all over debuting fighters. Suffice it to say that Patrick is much more skilled and experienced than any first time UFC fighter. Patrick a southpaw will display his cardio and capability in the later rounds of this fight where he will begin to wear the Chechen fighter down. We believe Patrick’s activity and pace will earn him a victory in this fight. Patrick +145( half) Hein -165 vs. Sajewski +145 There is plenty to like about the lefty Nick Hein. He’s looked solid in his first few UFC fights. He earned a decision over Drew Dober about...

UFC 188 Velasquez vs. Werdum: El Luchador Mexicano A tribute to Mexican* Fighters All fight analysis provided by @Gamblou Welcome Enthusiasts to UFC 188 from Mexico City. We feel a responsibility today to pay tribute to the rich and fertile history of Mexican fighters. From the mid 1970’s when we became passionate for fighting it was obvious that Mexican fighters compete not simply as individuals. Mexican fighters tote pure passion with them into every fight. They arrive with a deep seeded desire to exit the competition victorious. The fury by which the Mexican fighter competes is less for self and more for Country, heritage, their people and family. Boxing (fighting) history can’t be told accurately without firm reference to the rich history of Mexican fighters and their fights. From the early 1970’s we were privileged to be able to watch fighters like Saldivar, Azteca, Canto, Olivares, Sanchez, Zarate, Castillo, Marquez, Corrales, Lopez, Barrara and more. These fighters (I was able to see many of these men fight in person, others on TV… and yes there was TV then) were pure, proud, professional warriors who didn’t begin to actually fight until they were stunned, wobbled and rocked. Orgullo* remains part of the makeup of the Mexican fighter today. The purity of will by which Mexican fighters compete is tangible; one can see it, feel it, smell it and witness it. Just watch these proud professionals vie and their ‘never give up’ attitude cannot be overlooked. We are privileged to pay our respects to Mexican fighters as today’s card is held in Mexico City. The slate features several Mexicans that will display exactly what we are describing in this piece. More importantly we highlight Mexican pride because it is our belief that today’s Co-Main event will...

UFC FN68 New Orleans: Tae Kwon Do, TKO’s and Zydeco Welcome Enthusiasts. Today’s UFC card from the Crescent City features more dogs than the Westminster Kennel Club. We’ll prance right in! Fight analysis provided by Gamblou UFC 2015: 36-45 + $602.00 (All GambLou.com releases are understood to be a standard and hypothetical $100 per position unless otherwise stated. We use $100 to easily track our results as every GambLou.com release is accounted for each Monday AM. Public accounting allows us to display our profitability while providing our readers with 110% disclosure). -Let’s Fight- Morales -170 vs. Quinonez +160 Morales arrived to weigh-ins 4lbs overweight which means distraction and lack of professionalism. Morales will want to stand and bang but Quinones will be able to get him to the mat for a maul where he will own advantage. Those following us on twitter know we jumped Jose Alberto as soon as Chimmy wallowed onto the scale. Quinones +160 (half) Abreu -175 vs. Collier +165 Abreu is dynamic on the floor with his Jiu-Jitsu but will he employ it as IQ has not been his strength. Collier arrives the much taller, younger longer fighter and owns distinct advantage on the feet. We feel Collier is the more desperate fighter after looking great for a round in his last fight before getting iced with a head kick. We believe the live dog is Collier +165( half) Rivera Jr. -130 vs. Caceres +120 Nothing will make a UFC fighter work his arse off more than the cut line where each of these fighters stand after two consecutive losses each. Rivera is a striker that has some power but he is shorter, older and giving up 3” of reach to Caceres. Caceres is the better-rounded fighter who has been...

UFC FN 67 Condit vs. Alves: Grappling in Goiania Fight Analysis provided by @Gamblou Welcome Enthusiasts. Tonight we have UFC FN67 and Game 7 of the NHL’s Campbell Conference Finals. As much passion as we carry for both competitions we must say that an NHL Conference game 7 trumps any gaming endeavor…period. We’ll be viewing the hockey game closely and performing all UFC Due Diligence after these fights take place so with that understood Selectivity rules tonight. -Let’s Fight- UFC 2015: 34-42 + $652.00 (All GambLou.com releases are understood to be a standard and hypothetical $100 per position unless otherwise stated. We use $100 to easily track our results as every GambLou.com release is accounted for each Monday AM. Public accounting allows us to display our profitability while providing our readers with 100% disclosure). Breese -175 vs. Dutra +155 We discussed this fight with Gabriel Morency (@sportsrage) on his MMA Meltdown radio show this week (21 minute mark). Our due diligence is in and we’ll side with the Brazilian who enters this fight the more experienced and desperate (for a win) fighter. Breese brings no UFC experience and to open one’s career in Goiania against a home countryman who’s going to give his best is one tall order. The veteran Dutra opened up -105 and the price is rising. Be patient and get every penny of value on this mangy home dog. Dutra +155 (half) Bectic -500 vs. Martins +400 Mirsad Bectic should be the chalk here but at a number closer to the -245 he opened. Sure he is a promising prospect with outstanding wrestling skills and cardio out the arse.   Bectic fights a fine Brazilian striker that is a taller, longer, motivated southpaw in Lucas Martins. We simply cannot ignore the physical...

UFC 187: Cormier vs. Johnson/Weidman vs. Belfort: Chasing Chalk? (Fight analysis provided by Gamblou) Welcome Enthusiasts to one of the most stacked UFC fight cards in months. On first blush this slate seems to be steeped in chalk….as of 5-21-15 the average price on the favorite is -364 (and climbing) and that is with the Main Event being a pick-em price!* These firm favorites lead most to believe that finding live dogs on this card could be an arduous task but we feel that there will be a mangy mutt or two that will show up and bite the parlays players in the rear. Our role is to determine which mongrels will show up tonight for one thing we are confident about is that the fight game can be tricky and those believing that the chalk positions are foregone conclusions may well be in for a surprise. We are of the mindset that it just is not that easy to maneuver the Makers. So it is with respect and a keen eye that we submit the following positions for UFC 187. UFC 2015: 32-39 +482.00 (All GambLou.com releases are understood to be a standard and hypothetical $100 per position unless otherwise stated. We use $100 to easily track our results as every GambLou.com release is accounted for each Monday AM. Public accounting allows us to display our profitability while providing our readers with 100% transparency). Covington -260 vs. Pyle +240 Covington is an improving fighter with a wrestling based background yet he steps into this fight on relative short notice against a guy that is fighting for his UFC life. No doubt Covington is hungry and Pyle’s chin is of question but Pyle is a major step up in class for Covington. Pyle can...

UFC Fight Night 66 Edgar vs. Faber: Muay Thai in Manila Fight analysis courtesy of GambLou Good day Enthusiasts. Saturday’s UFC fight card occurs in the wee hours (7AM EST/4AM PST) from Pasay City in the Philippines. We scour these cards for live dogs and feel we have spotted several strays stranded in the streets of Manila. Last week we realized a 2-1 +$90.00 result. Vick (+170) started the day with his upset win followed by Tavares’ setback <130> before we were able to add to our net profitability with a half unit win on the prop position ‘Miocic/Hunt starts Round 3’. Anytime we can pull profit from a card and add to our bottom line we bank it then move forward. UFC 2015: 29-35 + $557.00 (All GambLou.com releases are understood to be a standard and hypothetical $100 per position unless otherwise stated. We use $100 to easily track our results as every GambLou.com release is accounted for each Monday AM. Public accounting allows us to display our profitability while providing our readers with 100% transparency). -Let’s Fight- Guangyou -115 vs. Wee -105 We liked Guangyou’s chances prior to weigh-in based on the fact that we view him as the more skilled, well rounded fighter. Wee is simply a one dimensional grappler who arrived to weigh-ins a couple pounds over the limit. This translates to us as distraction and lack of focus. As soon as we saw him miss weight we jumped Guangyou -105 for if you study your ‘Fightmetrics’ you’ll know the advantage missing weight gives an opposing fighter. Gaungyou -120 (half) Lima -170 vs Li +150 Lima has seen the better competition but he has not necessarily shown us much heart. Lima is in on short notice and is the longer...

Daily Double

The opening weekend of May should be called turn back the clock day; its the only time all year where boxing and horse racing dominate the sports discussion.  Everyone has an opinion (some good, some bad) on who takes home the Run for the Roses and of course who will walk out of the ring at Grand Garden with a championship belt.  Apparently a few jockeys at the track had a bit of fun recently making their selections but we can’t quite blame them for who they picked to win the prize fight. Keep it locked here all weekend long with plenty of fight analysis and derby tips to get you ready for a busy sports...

UFC 186 Johnson vs. Horiguchi: Catchweight’s in Quebec Good day Enthusiasts. We believe that it is our role to scour these UFC cards for value and catch canine’s capable of cashing for it is our manifest to manage mangy mongrels on these fight cards and convert results into profit. All fight analysis provided by Gamblou Our recent UFC results coupled with what we believe is a substandard fight card has us taking a very measured and conservative approach to today’s fights. We take our own advice when we hit a rough stretch so our choice today is to perform even more comprehensive Due Diligence, continue to practice supreme Selectivity and reduce our wagers exercising meticulous Money Management. We’ve been profitable at Sports Gaming for decades and it’s because we back off when we are experiencing difficulties and we flex when we are riding dirty Sally. The fact is that there is tremendous UFC opportunity ahead in 2015 with stellar fight cards available so no need for us to get impatient. ‘Swing it Easy’ implies no gripping so we will do as we practice and forge ahead in measured fashion. UFC 2015: 27-31 + $672.00 Aubin-Mercier -370 vs. Michaud +330 If we were going to make lines based on future potential then this line would make some sense to us. However in this TriStar vs. MMALab matchup we feel these two grappling based fighters are like mirror images of one another. Michaud is fighting for his UFC career and we feel owns an advantage over the home town kid on the feet. Olivier is off a loss and fighting in front your fans does not always equate to advantage. We handicap this fight much closer than what we see as of this writing so our...

UFC FN 65 Machida vs. Rockhold: Beatdown on the Boardwalk Written by UFC Analyst GambLou “Down on the boardwalk they’re gettin’ ready for a fight gonna see what them racket boys can do”* It’s been a couple of UFC cards now that we have underachieved with bottom line results. The UFC holding this event in the ‘Badlands’ of Jersey today which is as close to New York as the organization can get in attempting to get those backward ass legislators off their arse and allow the UFC to offer productions in the Garden state. We trust today is our time to experience ‘Better Days’ and show our Enthusiasts the there’s ‘No Surrender’ in Ol’ Uncle Louie. UFC 2015: 25-27 +762.00 Means -170 vs. Sullivan +160 Means has looked quite awesome in his last few fights but he has fought guys that want to give him distance and strike with him. We refuse to be ‘Blinded by the Light’ for while Means is one bad hombre on the feet he is also incomplete in tight, against the cage and on the mat. Our belief is that George Sullivan, a local Jersey boy has more than ‘High Hopes’ for this matchup. We feel he’ll grind Means against the cage, take him to the mat to deliver ground & pound and smother the longer striker. Sullivan has what we believe to be the style to cage the dirty bird today. Sullivan opened a fair -115 so without hesitation we’ll take value offered in the current price. Sullivan +160 Sterling -395 vs. Mizugaki +350 This is a value position solely. Sterling has great skills, superior athleticism, fights out of a top camp and appears to be ‘Easy Money’ in today’s fight. Takeya arrives the more experienced fighter and...
