I know we let you guys down on Monday without a podcast previewing the pair of games. However, we made it up to you with a holiday edition of the pod that not only includes comprehensive breakdowns of the 3 games on Turkey day but also a side we both feel pretty strongly about tomorrow. Grab yourself a cold drink (or hot chocolate depending on where you call home) and let PayneInsider and me lay out a solid gambling gameplan for a busy NFL weekend. ***Important Note: After recording the podcast, Texans named Ryan Fitzpatrick as their starter for this...

Playoff Odds

…and then there were 2 weeks to go in the college football regular season. There’s still so much to be decided in regards to crowning the 4 best (most deserving teams) worthy of a playoff bid. Alabama, Oregon, and Florida St are all poised to control their own destiny while its anyone’s guess who will snag that fourth spot. However we’ve been here before, simply assuming teams will win out making the decision even more difficult to name the top 2 teams. I’ll still contend that at least 1, maybe 2 teams will lose this weekend creating an even messier title picture allowing a school like UCLA or Georgia to come bursting through that playoff door. All prices courtesy of the Westgate Superbook FLORIDA ST 7 OREGON 9-2 ALABAMA 8-5 UCLA 20 OHIO ST 7 BAYLOR 7 WISCONSIN 100 ARIZONA ST 100 MISSOURI 50 GEORGIA 30 ARIZONA 300 KANSAS ST 100 MISSISSIPPI ST 7 GEORGIA TECH 100 TCU 7...

EPL Round-Up

After a brief international break the EPL is back with a vengeance. Of course our soccer coverage wouldn’t be complete without James Kempton weighing in with his game capsules. Remember you can listen to his podcast by clicking here. Chelsea v West Bromwich Albion Chelsea -1.75 Goal Line 3 Most pundits have crowned Chelsea champions but this title race is not over…well not officially. The Blues tend to struggle against the Baggies and have not covered a -1.5 handicap in any of the last six meetings of the sides. Give me Albion here to keep it close enough. Everton v West Ham United Everton -0.75 Goal Line 3 Everton are stumbling through this season and have not kicked on from the successes of last season whilst West Ham are on the opposite trajectory. Everton are strong in this spot though winning the last four EPL meetings and going unbeaten in the last twelve. Will Everton win? Maybe, but I give the Hammers a good chance of getting a draw so on this line they offer the value. Leicester City v Sunderland Leicester -0.25 Goal Line 2.5 Both sides need this game more than you can say to alleviate some of the relegation pressure beginning to build. City have only lost one home fixture this season, last time out against West Brom, so this is a tough game for Sunderland. Poyet needs a response from his men but this is a big game for the home side and I expect a big performance from City. I lean towards them but the under appears the best value bet. Manchester City v Swansea City Manchester City -1.5 Goal Line 3 Man City failed to beat QPR last time out and on a cold, windy and wet night in London that could have been viewed as a good result. However, they had picked their side with those...

It might be a Sunday slate devoid of major marquee match-ups but that doesn’t mean there isn’t money to be made. PayneInsider and I brought the A game (kind of) to get you read for Week 12 including an extensive preview of the KC @ Oakland showdown....

What a podcast we have for you…there’s more banter this week than arguably any week of the season thus far given the pathetic slate of games we were left to discussed. From the major stories in the Big Ten to the thinned out card in the SEC, we tried to hit on damn near every game that the casual fan would be interested in this upcoming weekend. As always there was plenty of “colorful” chatter along with questionable best bets from our quartet. I hope you’ll be entertained Widget not appearing? Everything you may have missed from a busy weekend in college football consolidated into short gambling friendly game capsules. Buffalo 55 – Akron 24 There was nothing fluke like about the Bulls domination of the Zips. Buffalo outgained them by 306 yards while racking up 30 first downs compared to Akron’s 15. Northern Illinois 27 – Toledo 24 Toledo scored the game’s most important touchdown of the game with 2:14 remaining to sneak in the backdoor as +3.5 point underdogs. Toledo lost starting QB Michael Julian to a concussion and normal starter Logan Woodside made attempted 5 passes before being removed for Dwight Macon. Neither team turned the ball over and yards were pretty evenly matched, accurately reflecting the game’s final score. UMASS 24 – Ball St 10 The Minutemen dominated Ball St, outgaining the Cardinals 569-286. Umass gained 424 of their 569 yards through a high flying passing attack led by Blake Frohnapel who left the game with a lower body injury later. After Blake’s departure the Minutemen wouldn’t attempt a single pass in the games final 8 minutes. Bowling Green 30 – Kent St 20 It appeared the Falcons would soar to an easy cover en route to a 2nd straight MAC east title…but that wasn’t the case. BG built a 20-0 lead 4 minutes into the 2nd quarter but wouldn’t score again until the beginning of the 4th. Colin Reardon relieved ineffective Kent starter Nathan Strock leading the Flashes to a cover despite being outrushed 212 to 22 on the evening. Cincinnati 54 – East Carolina 46 ECU and Cincy combined for over 1,100 yards in freezing conditions at Paul Brown Stadium. The Pirates faced a 38-20 deficit early in the 3rd before they stormed back to take a 46-45 lead...

College Football Championship...

More dominoes fell this past weekend as the college football national championship picture begins to take form. With their win over Mississippi St, Alabama moved to the national championship front runner at a price just over 2-1. UCLA remains one of the most intriguing sides on the board given a potential 11-2 finish with wins against USC, Stanford, and Oregon could have them sneaking in as a darkhorse longshot.
