As much passion as we carry for both competitions we must say that an NHL Conference game 7 trumps any gaming endeavor…period. We’ll be viewing the hockey game closely and performing all UFC Due Diligence after these fights take place so with that understood Selectivity rules tonight.

Breese -175 vs. Dutra +155
We discussed this fight with Gabriel Morency (@sportsrage) on his MMA Meltdown radio show this week (21 minute mark). Our due diligence is in and we’ll side with the Brazilian who enters this fight the more experienced and desperate (for a win) fighter. Breese brings no UFC experience and to open one’s career in Goiania against a home countryman who’s going to give his best is one tall order. The veteran Dutra opened up -105 and the price is rising. Be patient and get every penny of value on this mangy home dog.
Dutra +155 (half)
Bectic -500 vs. Martins +400
Mirsad Bectic should be the chalk here but at a number closer to the -245 he opened. Sure he is a promising prospect with outstanding wrestling skills and cardio out the arse. Bectic fights a fine Brazilian striker that is a taller, longer, motivated southpaw in Lucas Martins. We simply cannot ignore the physical advantages that Martins displays without reminding everyone that this fight takes place in and will be judged in Brazil! While Martins defense is improving that’s spin for not great) and he takes this fight on short notice we’ll still ‘Swing it Easy’ and angle that this fight is much closer than the parlay playing public understands.
Martins points handicap +3.5 +155 (half)
Oliveira -120 vs. Till +100
Oliveira arrives to this fight fresh of a devastating first round KO loss to Ponzinibbio which means we feel his mental frame could well be fragile. In the opposing corner of the Octagon stands a debuting fighter in Till that took this fight on very short notice. Till is almost 10 years younger (cardio advantage) a few inches taller and a lefty that sports a two inch reach advantage. Till’s an effective striker who will stay busy and bring an effective kicking game with good take down D. At weigh-ins we noticed that Till’s legs resembled tree trunks. We’ll go with fightmetric advantages here and see what the kicking canine can offer.
Till +100 (half)
Oliveira -280 vs. Lentz +255
Here’s another bout we discussed on MMA Meltdown radio this week. We are on record as saying that we did grab Oliveira -210 at opening but at -280 we just can’t make any recommendation on him based on price to our fight Enthusiasts. Coming in 2 pounds under the weight limit may seem to be an advantage but often times it isn’t. This weigh-in data makes us a little wary to be honest as we see this as a most competitive fight. We’ve professed here ad nauseum that top end wrestlers can deal Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters fits.
